Free Resources for Freelance Writing Jobs

by Julie McElroy on September 9, 2010

While I have enough writing jobs to keep me busy at the moment, I like to occasionally peek at what else is out there - just to shake it up.  There are only a few sites I turn to to look for freelance writing jobs. There are no fees and the listings are plentiful.

When times get tough and writers are feeling extra creative or have some extra time on their hands, it is nice to know that there are jobs out there available for freelance writers.

These resources provide enough information about writing gigs that I really do not have to look too many other places.  They provide the one-stop shopping experience.

1. Freelance Writing Gigs

This Freelance Writing Jobs Network is geared towards those that write for a living.  The site really has a lot of killer resources for freelance writers!  In addition to job postings, there is plenty to look through relating to writing including writing tips, job leads, and a grammar guide.

2. About Freelance Writing

Anne lists several freelance writing gigs on her site a week.  Anne puts some time into compiling these lists. She lists the job and provides a link.  The jobs vary in compensation and requirements.  Great for a quick look at what is available for long-term or short-term jobs.  Plenty to choose from!

3. PoeWar Jobs

This site has a variety of freelance jobs, some are telecommute, but a lot are actually journalism jobs that are not just for online writers.  The jobs are broken down by category as well.

4. Freelance Writing

This site has been offering freelance writing jobs since 1997. The site breaks is down by advertising jobs for different websites.  There are also contests posted on the site as well!

That's it!  Happy job hunting!
