Finding Inspiration When All Hope is Gone

This is a tough one. I am not saying I can provide all the answers here. There is not enough space in this blog to do that nor do I have the ability, as a human being, to do that.  I am only going to share what I believe in my heart.

Warning: Not a light-hearted, humorous post

Many times in their lives, people feel despair and lose all hope and inspiration. I don’t believe there are too many people who have NOT felt that at some point in their lives. Once inspiration fizzles from your heart, your mind, and your soul, grasping on to hope seems futile.

Hang on to Hope When All Hope is Gone

What I will say here is that even when all hope is gone, you still have to hang on to, yep, hope.  Huh?  How do you hang on to hope when all hope is gone?

There is always a tiny bit of hope left, even in the most dire situations. You just have to look for it. Hope comes from a place deep inside, hope comes from God.

What gives me the most hope every day is God’s grace; knowing that his grace is going to give me the strength for whatever I face, knowing that nothing is a surprise to God.”
~ Rick Warren

If you have ever read personal accounts of concentration camp victims, or abused children, you will understand that hope never completely fizzles. There may be times it appears that way, but God always leaves that door open. You just have to seek out that light inside you to get through the despair.

When you go through tough times and things seems hopeless, the only thing that may keep you going is that very thing: hope.  Look into your heart, know that God is there, and seek out that that spark of hope to help you from under the dark cloud.  You just need a spark.

Don’t Dwell on Mistakes

We all make mistakes, we are human and there is no way around that.  But, what you can do is pick yourself up, ask for forgiveness, and move on. Learn from those mistakes. Dwelling on mistakes will only fuel that hopeless feeling.

In a hopeless state of mind, inspiration may not prosper, and losing inspiration will slowly gnaw at your heart.

It’s never too late. You can’t screw up so badly that God can’t find something worth building in the wreckage, that life can’t assert its return when it is time.”
~ Barbara Crafton

Believe It Will Turn Out Okay

Some journeys are rough. Some paths seem broken and completely void of any hope or happy ending. Sometimes you feel you just can not do anything right. During these times, it may be impossible to find any spark of inspiration. We may feel lost and frustrated and even depressed.

Understand deep in your heart that you can take the bad things and turn them into good.  You can rekindle that spark of hope and find inspiration.  As a writer, inspiration is everything.  Without hope, there is no inspiration. Trust that there is a “light at the end of the tunnel.”

You’ve got to believe that God is in control of your life. It may be a tough time but you’ve got to believe that God has a reason for it and he’s going to make everything good.”
~ Joel Osteen

Some of this may be hard to grasp or understand. Some of this may not apply to you. This is for those who assume and believe that ALL HOPE IS GONE.  Well, I am here to tell you that it isn’t.

Never, never, never give up.
~Winston Churchill

  1. Thank you for uplifting my spirit. I may not be in the best place right now but reading your blog makes me feel a little bit better. Though it still doesn’t solve my financial problems and this has been going on since year, this blog article gives me a small hope to keep on going and not to give up.

  2. Bob Weaver says:

Thank-you for the “hope” post. Today I was given divorce documents by the court. We have been married for 12 years. Even now I Pray for reconcilliation. But it is getting very difficult. We have been seperated for 4 months.

  3. lost soul says:

    hope… really?
