One way to get your blog noticed not only by other readers, but in search engine traffic is by signing up with various blog directories. You will see the widgets in my sidebar for blog directories where I have my blog listed. Since I have decided to do this, I have noticed my traffic increase and much of this increase is due to the my listing in the blog directories.
Some blog directories charge a fee. This may be beneficial for a specific group of bloggers, but not for me. Below I have listed ten FREE blog directories where you can list your blog. At some of these sites, there is also a community in which you can also get involved and find other blogs in your niche, or just blogs that you may find interesting and worth following.

These are some of the most common blog directories, there are dozens more, but I feel this is a good starting point. Also, list your blog on Google's URL directory.
